It's another BONUS SHOW for the month of October! Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, and company have been runnin' wild (BROTHER!!!) on TNA since January. So far, they've been playing it straight, but Sting, Kevin Nash, and others haven't been buying with Hogan and Bischoff were selling. Abyss has been touting the date, "10.10.10" for months while taking out TNA World Champion Rob Van Dam with his 2x4 full of nails that he calls Janice, and Bound For Glory 2010 (TNA's biggest show of the year) is where everything will come to light. For the first time, the Marks (Troy & Greg) have done an about-face after realizing that the advertised Halloween Havoc 1993 (and all news involved) was a stinker that they just couldn't get much out of. So today, they're covering the 62nd time Ric Flair's career would be on the line! This time, it's against a fresh-to-WCW Hulk Hogan who is also putting his career and WCW World Heavyweight Title on the line against "The Nature Boy" inside of a steel cage. This was the very first and very last Halloween Havoc under the NWA banner. By 1990, it would be WCW Halloween Havoc. For this first event, we're treated to Ric Flair & Sting taking on Terry Funk & The Great Muta an electrified steel cage with Halloween decorations all over it, called the Thunderdome Cage! Keep in mind that this show is in Philadelphia, and the smart marks are running wild on cheering the heels and booing the babyfaces (for the most part). This is one of the biggest moments of Curt Hennig's run in WCW and the peak of the New World Order. Arn Anderson just retired and gave "his spot" in the Four Horsemen to Hennig right before they took on the NWO in War Games. Jeff Jarrett has been trying to get into the Horsemen for about a year or so, but his efforts aren't going so well. However, he did take Mongo's wife as his valet. 1995 is notorious for being one of the worst years for all wrestling promotions in the United States. However, it was the first year WCW ever turned a profit and there are actually a few gems throughout this year. Fall Brawl 1995 is probably one of the best shows of the entire year with Johnny B. Badd and Flyin' Brian Pillman tearing it up in the show opener, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson breaking their friendship to do battle over who is the greatest Horseman, and in the main event War Games match, the cartoonish Dungeon of Doom faction climbs into the double cage with The Hulkamaniacs team of Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Sting, and Lex Luger. There was trouble brewing with the Hulkamaniacs as Vader was recently fired from WCW and replaced with Lex Luger at the request of Sting, even though Luger just debuted on the first ever Nitro to challenge Hulk Hogan! There's plenty of news from that time to be discussed as well and co-host Greg throws his usual shade at AEW. Probably one of the most fun podcasts the Marks have recorded, they're focusing on an absolutely insane and terrible show. After "Dark Side of the Ring" on Vice TV covered the life of Herb Abrams, the Marks have been wanting to talk about him and his Universal Wrestling Federation. The cocaine-and-hooker-addicted Abrams wanted to compete with Vince McMahon's WWF, but could never get the fledgling UWF truly past first base. He had SOME talent, but most of that was buried. Blackjack Brawl was a colossal failure for many reasons and was absolutely brutal to watch, but it was a hilarious piece of history to cover. The Marks also talk about the early days of the UFC, where dirt rag writers thought it was all fake. Whether or not we knew it at the time, ALL IN 2018 was basically the demo tape for what would become All Elite Wrestling. It was billed as "The Biggest Independent Wrestling Show Ever," and featured talent from NWA, ROH, MLW, NJPW, CMLL, and more. Co-host Greg has never watched this show before and brings a "new eyes" perspective to a show that co-host Troy is watching back for the first time since seeing it live, 2 years ago. When "Uncle" Dave Meltzer said that Cody and the Young Bucks couldn't sell out a 10,000 seat arena, the Elite members took that as a bet and put their money where their mouths were.
