Episode 163: WWF In Your House 2 (The Lumberjacks)

For the second In Your House event, we're going back to 1995. The main event was a battle for the WWF Title between champion Diesel and challenger Sycho Sid. The ring is surrounded by hand-picked babyfaces for Diesel and the Million Dollar Corporation, paid off by Ted DiBiase. This wasn't the best match of the night, however, as Jeff Jarrett not only did a live performance of "With My Baby Tonight," but also defended his Intercontinental Title against Shawn Michaels. To this day, Jeff Jarrett says this was his greatest match ever. Episode 162: WCW Bash at the Beach 1994 (Hogan’s Debut Match)

In 1994, Hulk Hogan made the leap from the WWF to WCW (with a short hiatus in between). We've covered the end of Hogan's WWE career in previous podcasts and now we're touching on the beginning of his WCW career as he FINALLY goes one-on-one with "Nature Boy" Ric Flair for the WCW Title. This match has been talked about for years and years, built up since Flair joined the WWF in late 1991, and it never happened...until now! Episode 161: ECW Heat Wave 2000

It's ironic that the main event was titled a Stairway to Hell match, because most of ECW was like watching pro wrestling from Hell. It wasn't all bad, though, as we got a decent ECW World Title match between Tommy Dreamer and Justin Credible, a great Four Corners match between Yoshihiro Tajiri, Mikey Whipwreck, Little Guido and Psicosis, Jerry Lynn and Steve Corino had a great match, and we've got a fantastic Six-Man Tag match. Rob Van Dam tries to drag Scotty Anton (the former Scotty Riggs) to a presentable match, Big Sal and Balls Mahoney have a turd, Rhino and Sandman beat each other up over the TV Title, and much more. Episode 159: WCW Great American Bash 1990

This is one of the best shows from this era of WCW and one of the greatest Great American Bash shows of all time! Your hosts, Troy & Greg, have personally seen this show 3-4 times. It was Sting's crowning achievement of FINALLY beating Ric Flair to sit atop the mountain as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. The future Undertaker, "Mean" Mark Callous, also takes on Lex Luger for Luger's United States Title. This was actually Mark's "audition" for the WWF, which we discuss on the podcast. The NWA World and United States Tag Titles are on the line in matches. Vader debuts for WCW against the Z-Man. There are quite a few outdated things on this show that may make you cringe and...oh yeah...El Gigante debuted. But, other than that...this was pretty great! The Undertaker was fighting for the life of Paul Bearer against the Dudley Boyz in a handicap match dubbed The Concrete Crypt match. It was never said that if the Undertaker lost, Paul would be buried in concrete. Paul Heyman simply said that if the Undertaker "didn't do the right thing," Bearer would be buried. W...T...F? Also on this card, Eddie Guerrero puts his WWE Title on the line against JBL in a Texas Bullrope match, the US Title is on the line as John Cena defends against RVD, Booker T, and Rene Dupree, Rey Mysterio faces off with Chavo Guerrero, and much more. Wrestling was in a weird place in 1994. Having said that, this may have been one of the weakest King of the Ring events of all time, but we did get one of the greatest matches under 4 minutes ever and a glimpse into the future of the WWF as Diesel takes on Bret Hart. The main event of this show was also one straight out of the Over the Hill Club as Jerry "The King" Lawler and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper face off in a comedically bad match that even bordered on "boring" at times. At least we've got some interesting news as Hulk Hogan joins WCW, there are 2 Undertakers, Smoky Mountain Wrestling is struggling to stay afloat, and nutty Herb Abrams is planning on running UWF in a HUGE building in Las Vegas, Nevada! Episode 156: ROH SuperCard of Honor VII

The biggest moment of Jay Briscoe's career happened at this show, in the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Possibly the biggest name Ring of Honor had seen in years, Kevin Steen (now Kevin Owens in WWE) was the reigning ROH Champion and had Steve Corino's SCUM stable backing him up. All the odds were stacked against Jay, and this was fantastic!
