Dedicated to the memory or "Da Bad Guy" Scott Hall. This was one of the Marks' most favorite WrestleManias of all time! It was the final run for Hollywood Hogan in the New World Order and it was the symbolic "passing of the torch" from Hogan to Rock, smack dab in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Also on this show, the Undertaker took on "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair in Flair's first real "return to form." Trish Stratus and Lita both attempt to dethrone Jazz as Women's Champion. The Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and Triple H feud reaches a peak as Chris Jericho (with Stephanie in his corner) defends the Undisputed Title against Triple H. Stone Cold does battle with Scott Hall, who has Kevin Nash watching his back. Edge and Booker T also feud over a Japanese shampoo commercial. That part wasn't great, but what are you gonna do? This was better than '95 and '96, but what's that really saying? All in all, the history of WCW's Uncensored pay-per-views have been completely crap. This one was no different. However, the Marks (Troy & Greg) make this one friggin' fun, which is more than we can say about WCW's bookers. Eric Bischoff already took off for an extended vacation, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan were basically booking things, and the company was already circling the drain while WWF was riding high. On the card, Scott Steiner put his TV Title on the line against Booker T and Hollywood Hogan put the WCW Title on the line against Ric Flair (if Flair wins, he becomes President for life, but if he loses, he retires) in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage First Blood match. Bigger! Better! Badder! Live from the Pontiac Silverdome (BROTHER!!!), WrestleMania III broke indoor attendance records as the Irresistible Force met the Immovable Object! For the 20th In Your House event, there was No Way Out of Texas! The main event was supposed to be the team of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Owen Hart, Cactus Jack, & Chainsaw Charlie (Terry Funk) taking on Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and the New Age Outlaws. But after Shawn Michaels injured his back at the Royal Rumble, he's out until WrestleMania 14. Someone else has to step in...and let's just say...the reveal is less than impressive. Also on this card, we see Kane and Vader do battle, The Nation of Domination try to stop from imploding, the NWA stable try to stay relevant with Jeff Jarrett leading the way, the Light Heavyweights in action, Marc Mero attempt to stop Sable from always stealing his spotlight, and Goldust just get weirder and weirder. At the beginning of 1996, WCW was riding high, WWF was coming back from their worst year to date, and ECW was only beginning to get extreme. To be blunt, this entire show was a damn mess. Most "matches" on this show lasted only a minute or two, there were quite a few messy segments, tons of swearing, Brian Pillman surprising everyone and threatening to urinate in the ring, and only one or two decent matches on this entire show. After last month's Final Resolution PPV, Christian Cage is set to defend the NWA World Title against Kurt Angle in the main event. Scott Steiner just returned to the company and is backing Christian up along with Tomko and AJ Styles. That's not the only "big" story on this card, however, as Sting continues his crusade against James Mitchell in an attempt to "save" Abyss from the clutches of the devil himself. In yet another goofy freaking match, these two battle in a Prison Yard match where you have to lock your opponent in a shark cage to win. Besides that, we see AJ Styles and Rhino continue their feud, Jerry Lynn is still on a mission to prove he's not an old geezer as he takes on Chris Sabin for the X-Division Title, Team 3D battles it out with LAX in a Little Italy Street Fight, all-star baseball players participate in Basebrawl (real thing), and Robert Roode tries to take control of Eric Young's contract. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was in WCW for one reason: To take the WCW Title off of Hollywood Hogan. But do Hogan and the New World Order have an ace card up their sleeves? This was the one where Drew Carey entered the Royal Rumble. Yup... Other than that, though, it was a great show! On that fateful night in Louisiana, Kurt Angle defended his WWF Title against Triple H, the biggest wrestling stars in the world (Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker, Kane, etc.) entered the 30-man Royal Rumble match, Edge & Christian defended their Tag Titles against those damn Dudleyz, and much more.
