It was the 19th In Your House of all time, it was the final WWF pay-per-view of the year 1997, it was themed for D-Generation X, and Shawn Michaels main evented against Ken Shamrock in a WWF Title match. That's about all we can say about it... It wasn't particularly good. It wasn't particularly outstanding. However, there was some goofy crap to talk about on this one as well as some stuff that set up for the Royal Rumble and more going into the year 1998. Co-host Greg remembers this show fondly while other co-host Troy watched this for the first time...and wasn't impressed. Check it out and decide for yourself where this one falls on your scale.FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: maineventmarkspod@gmail.comSEARCH FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mainevent-marks/support Learn more about your ad choices. 1996 was a banner year for professional wrestling in the WWF and WCW with World Championship Wrestling's biggest show of the year, Starrcade, being no exception! Co-host Greg remembers watching this play out before his very eyes as a pre-teen while co-host Troy is watching this all for the first time. Jump in to the world of wrestling when the NWO had just formed, Shawn Michaels and his bad attitude were running wild in the WWF, and ECW was just about to pick up steam with their cult-like audience. All this and much more are covered in this podcast that covers Starrcade 1996, which had a good blend of international flare, big time storylines, and nostalgia!FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: maineventmarkspod@gmail.comSEARCH FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mainevent-marks/support Learn more about your ad choices. ECW was literally a walking corpse, but they were still trying to put on some good shows (by their standards) in December of 2000 in the Hammerstein Ballroom on 34th Street in New York City. While co-host Marks, Troy & Greg, have made their feelings known that they don't and never have liked ECW, they actually like most of what they put out in the year 2000. This only 2 more shows left after this until Extreme Championship Wrestling is GONE FOREVAH, BRO, there's a lot to talk about in the news & notes about non-payment and bankruptcy. Also, Scott Hall got arrested twice within a 2-week span and didn't make the show. Who could've seen that coming?FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: maineventmarkspod@gmail.comSEARCH FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mainevent-marks/support Learn more about your ad choices. The dark fog of the Black Scorpion and his mysterious identity hovered over Sting for month and are finally coming to a head at the NWA/WCW's biggest show of the year, Starrcade. Also on the show is an international tag-team tournament for the Pat O'Connor Memorial Cup. 14 matches were crammed into this 3 hour show! This one takes co-Mark, Troy, back to his teenage years and reminds the other co-Mark, Greg, of why he became a fan in the first place. However, besides it being the 20th annual Survivor Series, there wasn't anything really groundbreaking on the show. King Booker defended his World Title against Batista in the main event. The Undertaker sought revenge against Mr. Kennedy in a First Blood match. John Cena led a team of Raw and ECW stars into battle against a Big Show led team. 4 legends face off with 4 Spirit Squad members. Also, Team DX shut out Team Rated RKO with one hell of a talent-filled Survivor Series team.FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: maineventmarkspod@gmail.comSEARCH FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mainevent-marks/support Learn more about your ad choices. It's our November bonus show, and Jacob Grondy is back! They reminisce about their childhoods, video rental stores, their love of classic wrestling, and what organization brought the most heat in the '80s with their product! The main event was a 5-on-5 Survivor Series match where Andre the Giant's team faced off against Hulk Hogan's team! This was their first big meeting after their epic clash at WrestleMania III and before Andre took the title from Hogan on Saturday Night's Main Event! There was also a 5-on-5 women's Survivor Series match and a 10-on-10 Tag-Team Survivor Series match! TNA was finally out of the era of "weekly pay-per-views" and are now on FS1 with iMPACT! Because of this, we're starting monthly Sunday pay-per-views, and this was the first one that went for 3 hours! This was the era of TNA that was referred to by many as the beginning of their heyday and co-hosts Troy & Greg were all over this company, jumping head-first onto the bandwagon! Raven, Monty Brown, and Abyss faced off in a Monster's Ball match, AJ Styles took on Petey Williams for the X-Division Title, Eric Young & Bobby Roode of Team Canada defended their NWA Tag Titles against 3 Live Kru (BG James & Konnan), and Jeff Hardy tries to capture the NWA World Heavyweight Title from Jeff Jarrett in a Ladder match main event!FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: maineventmarkspod@gmail.comSEARCH FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mainevent-marks/support Learn more about your ad choices. The follow-up to our review of the WWF's October 1996 pay-per-view, In Your House: Buried Alive! This show was red hot from Madison Square Garden! Co-host Greg reminisces about watching this show live with friends and, for one of the first times of his life, actually rooting on a top heel over the top babyface. Stone Cold Steve Austin was just starting his rise and gaining a ton of support from fans, but Bret Hart was still one of the biggest names in the industry. Also on this show, two men make their WWF debuts. One went on to fizzle out and not stick around for long and the other went on to become one of the biggest stars in the entire world. Tons of big stuff happening on this show, and the Marks are on top of it!FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: maineventmarkspod@gmail.comSEARCH FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mainevent-marks/support Learn more about your ad choices. It was the fourth and final World War 3 event and Kevin Nash had the "power of the pen." Hijinks ensue as Big Sexy runs wild! WCW World Champion Goldberg was there, they made a big deal out of it, but he didn't compete. That's so WCW... Also, Hollywood Hogan WAS NOT there because he was about to laughably announce he was running for President (in November of 1998, before anyone was ever thinking about the 2000 election). All in all, this was a pretty decent show that was headlined by DDP and Bret Hart battling for the US Heavyweight Title. We're on our final stop before the infamous Starrcade 1998!FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: maineventmarkspod@gmail.comSEARCH FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mainevent-marks/support Learn more about your ad choices. It's the 20 year anniversary!!! On a pre-Halloween 2002 Monday Night Raw on TNN (not the USA Network), Triple H continued his tasteless angle of using a sex doll as a stand-in for Katie Vick, who was Kane's kayfabe prom date in high school that died in a car crash with Kane behind the wheel. Yes, this was one week after the infamous, "I screwed your brains out!" funeral home debacle. Kane attacked Triple H, leading to a non-title Casket Match on this show! This was also the night that Eric Bischoff announced who would be competing in the first ever Elimination Chamber match at Survivor Series and Shawn Michaels decided to go after his former best friend, Triple H, after Trips tried to cripple Shawn at SummerSlam. Furthermore, in the first full calendar year with no WCW, ECW, or any competition, TNA is also on the rise as they have new owners! That and so much more discussed in this week's episode!FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: maineventmarkspod@gmail.comSEARCH FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mainevent-marks/support Learn more about your ad choices.
